Your mission as AstroLabs’ Head of Tech will be to:

Tech Leadership

  • Oversee engineering, tech operations, and infrastructure. Manage AstroLabs’ technology infrastructure, ensuring it is reliable, scalable, and secure.

  • Develop and implement a strategic technology roadmap: Collaborate with the CSO and senior management to define the technical roadmap and prioritize initiatives based on business objectives.

  • Enabling our Product Roadmap: Close collaboration with the product team and enabling the delivery / execution of the product roadmap.

  • Ensure the successful delivery of key projects aligned with business goals.

  • Manage the technology budget, optimizing spending while ensuring the necessary resources are allocated for strategic projects.

  • Elevate our tech capabilities as part of our management team and help us become a tech-driven company.

  • Act as a liaison between the technology team and other departments, as well as communicating technology strategies and initiatives to the board.

  • Closely collaborate with the Data team to ensure the availability of real-time data for business decisions.

Engineering

  • Lead software development: Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions that drive business efficiency and enhance customer experience.

  • Ensure code quality and best practices: Implement coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.

  • Foster innovation: Encourage and lead the team in exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve product offerings.

  • Collaborate on product development: Work closely with product teams to align engineering efforts with business needs and customer requirements.

  • Manage engineering projects: Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Tech Ops

  • Oversee IT operations: Ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems, including hardware, software, and networks.

  • Implement IT service management: Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficient and secure IT operations.

  • Monitor system performance: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and security of IT systems.

  • Manage technical support: Lead the technical support team to provide timely and effective assistance to internal and external users.

  • Ensure disaster recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a system failure.

Infrastructure

  • Develop infrastructure strategy: Create and implement a strategy for the company's IT infrastructure that supports business objectives and growth.

  • Manage infrastructure projects: Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet performance and security standards.

  • Ensure scalability and reliability: Design and maintain a scalable and reliable infrastructure to support business operations and growth.

  • Optimize resource utilization: Monitor and optimize the utilization of IT resources to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Maintain infrastructure security: Implement security measures to protect the infrastructure from threats and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Job requirements

Your Qualifications

  • 10 years+ in senior technology-focused roles, with a proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies that drive business growth.

  • Track record of building and deploying B2B solutions.

  • Strong skills in building and managing high-performing tech teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Proven success in managing technological infrastructure and ensuring robust data and IT security.

  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in guiding internal and external communications.

  • Proficiency in compliance and regulatory standards related to technology operations.
